About
I'm a UX/UI Designer with a background in digital and visual design, focused on making complex experiences clear, useful and considered.
I've spent more than 10 years working across digital and visual design, creating experiences for organisations across financial services, aviation, professional services and the public sector.
My background means I bring both sides of design to a project: thinking about how something works and how someone moves through it, while also caring about how the final experience looks and feels.

My background
I started my career in graphic design before progressively moving further into digital, UX and UI design.
Over the years, my work has evolved from visual communication and brand-led design into responsive digital experiences, user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, interfaces and design systems.
Today, I often work from an initial problem or brief through to concepts, wireframes and polished UI, collaborating closely with stakeholders, developers and other specialists along the way.
My visual design background remains an important part of how I work. I care about typography, hierarchy, motion and craft, but always in service of making an experience clearer and easier to use.
How I approach design
I like to understand the problem before jumping to the solution.
That means questioning assumptions, understanding what users are trying to achieve and balancing those needs with business goals and technical constraints.
I work collaboratively and iteratively, sharing ideas early, getting feedback and refining them throughout the process rather than disappearing with a brief and returning with a finished design.
Accessibility is something I consider throughout the process rather than as a final check. I design with inclusive patterns, responsive behaviour and WCAG guidance in mind, while working closely with developers to make sure the intended experience survives implementation.
The best digital experiences shouldn't have to choose between being useful and beautifully made.
Developing my UX practice
As my work became increasingly focused on digital experiences, I wanted to strengthen the research and UX thinking behind my design decisions.
I completed a Professional Diploma in UX Design, covering:
- User research
- Usability testing
- Information architecture
- Interaction design
- Prototyping
- User-centred design
The course gave me a stronger framework for approaching problems from the user's perspective, which I continue to develop through my professional work, experimentation and ongoing learning.
I'm also exploring how AI can support different stages of the design process, from exploration and research through to prototyping and testing.

What I'm looking for next
I'm looking for a role where I can continue developing as a UX/UI or Product Designer, working on meaningful digital products and services within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
I'm particularly drawn to environments where design is involved early in the process, designers work closely with product and engineering, and there is space to understand the problem rather than simply being handed a solution to execute.
I'm also interested in consultancy because of the variety it offers: moving between different problems, users and organisations while bringing a user-centred approach to complex challenges.
